The Bingo Hangover

Yesterday I took a little break from the computer and headed down to London to meet up and chat to various people from the online bingo industry. I am now whizzing back along the East Coast line, slightly hungover and excessively tired. LOL.

In the afternoon I met up with Paul from paysafecard to discuss our weekly prize draw, which has been running now on FreeBingo since October 2008. We both agreed that was quite a long time to run one promotion, and that we should freshen it up and make things more exciting for our players.

I am looking forward to getting back in the office so I can send him my proposals. What I have in mind is something more akin to the Christmas Tournaments we did in December, where players got to win the paysafecard cash directly in the bingo rooms. I’m sure our players will love it.

After my meeting with Paul, I had a look round the International Gaming Exhibition at Earl’s Court. I bumped into a few website managers and developers, including Sree from CozyGames, who develops the software that powers sites like WowBingo and Bingo.com. They’ve got a very interesting tournament bingo idea coming soon, where you could win £100 from a £1 stake. I’m sure we’ll have an Eric’s Offer about that when it goes live.

In the evening I went along to the “Bingo Drinks”, which is basically an excuse for bingo managers to get together and get quite drunk. LOL. It is also great to get to know the people behind the sites and put faces to the names I normally only talk to on MSN or via email.

Everyone was really friendly, and quite a lot had seen our Blackpool Players Meet video and recognised me! I did a double-take myself when Alex McLeish wandered past me followed by the Birmingham City football squad, complete in matching tracksuits. I decided they weren’t that famous to bother getting a photo or autograph, so left them to prepare for the 3-0 thrashing they were about to receive by Chelsea.

At the drinks the team from Tombola were great company as always, and we discussed an Eric’s Offer we’re going to send out in a few weeks which will be fantastic – so make sure you’re on the mailing list otherwise you will miss out!

I chatted that much, I won’t bore you by recalling every conversation, but lets just say they were all really positive about doing more stuff on the site and more importantly – providing us with more prizes for our players to win!

With free drinks at the bar, I was one of the last to leave. This would go a long way to explaining the headache I woke up with this morning! After the drinks I headed to a nightclub with Mark from PaddyPowerBingo but we weren’t VIP enough to get in, so I gave up at this point and called it a night.

Thanks Tombola team for the cab ride back – it sure is expensive in that London! LOL
